Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS)

Connecticut is in the process of planning a Quality Rating and Improvement System for early
childhood programs. CAEYC partnered with the CT Head Start Association and the DSS Center Directors Group to hold 4 public forums across the state, to help providers of early care & education discover what this means and how they can contribute.
The purpose of these sessions were to:

• Provide greater understanding of this process and basic components of a state QRIS,
• Have the opportunity to exchange ideas and information around the concept of a QRIS for
Connecticut, and
• Have the resources and information on how to continually be engaged in the process.
