Staffed Family Child Care Network members gathered in the CTAEYC office in November for a workshop entitled
"Understanding and Supporting Special Interest in Children with Autism", presented by The Hangout Spot.
Participants learned how to develop special interests
into social opportunities and how to harness the
power of special interests to help their students
branch out and explore novel experiences.
On Saturday, family child care educators in Region 3 gathered for a workshop led by
Jean Barresi about block play and it's importance in early childhood programs. Attendees left this two hour workshop with
not only knowledge about the
Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale and how to implement more block play into
their days, but also with a kit of blocks
and accessories for their programs!
